We kicked off yesterday’s team meeting with a fun, catered breakfast to celebrate our quarterly 100% safety rating and to show appreciation for excellent work done thus far during this busy season. Our safety training covered proper lock-out tag-out procedures for hazardous equipment usage.
We welcomed new team members, Logan Sitton and Alan Phelps, and returning team member Jesse Goodwin. Congratulations to Omar Sóstenes for being the recipient of our June Superstar Award. Omar is a hard worker who does an excellent job of portraying our mission and vision! • • • #soscapes #lynchburgva #ourlynchburg #smithmountainlake #smithmountainlakeva #landscapinglife #landscapersofinstagram #landscapers_of_instagram #team #celebrate #culture … See MoreSee Less

Most lakefront yards are sloped – some gently sloping and some a bit more extreme. A benefit of a sloping yard is that it offers incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountains; however, sloped yards also present problems with ease of accessibility, as well as drainage concerns.
This Smith Mountain Lake client had a severely sloped back yard and wanted to both beautify their property and improve accessibility. We added a large retaining wall with the addition of metal fencing for safety; terraced their yard with the addition of stone steps, a curved pathway, and boulder retention; installed pathway lighting; added a stone drainage ditch; and added plants and shrubs for softscapes.
