The McKenna Circle project (right) called for a complete design/build outdoor living space in the client’s backyard with a swimming pool. Our clients wanted an area that they could entertain their four children, as well as their adult friends at the same time so we created a covered seating area attached to the pool house that included a bar, refrigerator and sink. The pool house includes a half bath and kitchenette area which is used to prepare food. The grilling space was created separate from the eating area so the adults good have conversation while cooking. We created a new access from the existing deck that made a grand entry to the patio and also a great visual of the entire project from the balcony. Over fourteen feet of grade change in the client’s backyard made this project extremely challenging, but our team of landscape professionals were able to overcome these challenges to deliver a magnificent project.
The Fox Meadow project (right) was designed to take a completely wooded and unused area of our client’s backyard and turn it into an outdoor oasis. The area was strategically selected in this wooded area to create a “secret garden” approach. With gently sloping terrain, it lended itself to installing some small parapet knee walls and a water feature that flows into the pool. The stone walls broke up the seemingly flat look and added some contrasting terrain. These areas also created unique panting pockets for the client. By incorporating a small but functional pool house, we were able to make the area completely user friendly and contain all the amenities you would have in a larger pool house such as a, kitchenette area and pool equipment storage. Access was our main issue on this project trying not to disturb the remaining wooded area. Several provisions for protecting the existing woods were put into place and the result is a breathtaking oasis!
