MEET OUR TEAM

Mark is co-owner and President of Southern Landscape Group, Inc. He received his B.S. degree in Horticulture – Landscape Design and a minor in Agricultural Economics from Virginia Tech. He has been directly involved in the landscape industry for over twelve years. Currently, he serves as the President of the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association and is Co-Chair of the Virginia Tech Department of Horticulture Advisory Board. He was the recipient of the Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises Award in 2009 and the Outstanding Recent Alumnus for Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2010. Mark is a NCMA certified retaining wall installer, certified pesticide applicator and Virginia Certified Horticulturist. His knowledge and experience in landscape design/build are a winning combination for the client and SLG. Mark is involved in the community with such organizations as Relay for Life, Interfaith Outreach Association, Boy Scouts of America, Rush Homes and others. His energetic, fun-loving personality makes working with SLG fun and enjoyable! In his personal time Mark enjoys spending time with his wife Merideth and daughter Meg. He is also an aviation enthusiast earning his private pilot's license and instrument rating in 2008. On weekends when Mark is not working you are likely to find him at Smith Mountain Lake.

David is co-owner of Southern Landscape Group, Inc. He received his Associates Degree from Virginia Tech in Landscape and Turf Management. He has been in the landscape industry since 1990. In 1994 David started Picture Perfect Landscapes, Inc. and continued to run the company until he merged with Southern Landscapes in April 2006. David refined his skills with continuing education courses and certifications from the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute, National Concrete Masonry Association. He is a Virginia Certified Horticulturist as well as a Commercial Pesticide Applicator. David currently oversees company operations and productivity. He promotes quality of work, professionalism and dedication needed to make each job a success.

David is a graduate of Virginia Tech with an Associates Degree in Landscape and Turf Management. He has six years of experience as a manager in the landscape and hardscape fields, but his passion for creative landscaping led him to the design side of the business. He is ICPI, LiveRoof, and Virginia Horticulturist certified, and continues his education in many different aspects of the industry. David's creativity, love for landscaping, and his enthusiastic personality make him a perfect match for the SLG team.

Timmy is a graduate of Rustburg High School where he served as an officer and member of the FFA for five years. He brings five years of landscape maintenance experience to our team. Timmy is a Registered Pesticide Technician with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and is Virginia Horticulturist certified. Keeping your grounds in prestige condition is Timmy’s specialty. “I take pride in caring for God’s beauty!”

Andy is a graduate of Central Virginia Community College. He obtained an Associate degree in Commercial Art. Andy is a NCMA certified retaining wall installer and an ICPI certified paver installer. Andy brings two years of printing, two years building supply, three years landscaping, and seven years residential, commercial-industrial concrete experience. With Andy’s experience and dedicated team he is able to transform the customer’s vision into reality with confidence and professionalism.

Jerry is a graduate of Appomattox High School and began working for SLG in December 2007. In addition to working with SLG, Jerry is the fire chief of the Brookville Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department. He has been in with the department for 28 years. He is married to Lisa and has 2 children and 1 grandchild. He loves to play golf and is an avid NASCAR fan. Jerry's positive attitude and great personality have been a wonderful addition to the organization.

Barret is a graduate of Virginia Tech with an Associates Degree in Landscape and Turf Management. He has twelve years of experience working in the green industry with a focus on landscaping and irrigation. Barret is a certified pesticide applicator and is involved in other continuing education programs. His experience is a valuable asset to our team. When he is not working Barret enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Brandy is a native of Evington, VA. She graduated from Rustburg High School and began her career in customer service industry immediately. Since her arrival to SLG in April of 2006, she has developed many relationships with our clients. You will likely hear Brandy's voice on the other end of the phone when you call our office. Brandy assists our sales team in preparing quotes, executing proposals, ordering job materials and keeping our clients up to date on the schedule.

Tonya, a native from Ohio, graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Business Finance. Her background in accounting and administration for more than ten years has been with two local construction companies. She brings a vast knowledge of office administration and organization to our team and has an overwhelmingly fun personality. In her time away from work you will likely find her with her three children gardening in her very own greenhouse. She also enjoys quilting and fishing. Tonya handles all of SLG's accounting, human resources and general office administration and we are thrilled to have her as part of our team.
